Beach stickers now on sale
      Beach stickers for entry into Mackerel Cove beach and Ft. Getty are not available at the Town Hall. Stickers can only be purchased at Mackerel Cove beach, the gate house at Ft. Getty or the recreation center, at 41 Conanicus Ave., from 9 a.m. to noon.

Fishing pier in North Kingstown moving forward

      State officials have adopted "one pier a year, ten piers in ten years" concept to build or improve ten fishing piers along Narragansett Bay. Work began earlier this year on five of them, including North Kingstown's west end of the old Jamestown Bridge at Plum Point.
