New yoga classes offered

Jamestown resident Kim Chandler, owner and director of Innerlight Center for Yoga in Middletown, and an adjunct faculty member for Kripalu Center in Lenox, Mass., is offering a special five-week series of yoga classes this summer.

This new class, which is sponsored by the Jamestown Recreation Department, will be held Mondays at 8:30 a.m., beginning June 25 at 32 Pemberton Ave. The 75-minute mellow vinyasa yoga class will present a flow of poses that emphasize strengthening, stretching and stress management, through breath awareness and alignment principles.

This class is being added to Chandler's on-going moderate yoga classes held on Tuesday evenings at 5:30 p.m. and Friday mornings at 9 a.m. Drop-ins are welcome anytime at $15 per class. A 6-class card, which can be used for any of Chandler's classes, costs $60.

For more information, contact the recreation office at 423-7211.
