Underage possession

of alcohol charged

Cord R. Lopez, 18, of North Kingstown was charged July 31 with underage possession of an alcoholic beverage after the car in which he was a passenger was stopped for speeding on Gondola Avenue.

Lopez was held overnight at the police department. He was scheduled for arraignment the same day at Newport District Court, police said.

Also in the car was Alexander Birn, 18, of 38 Rosemary Lane, and Brendan M. Trudeau of North Kingstown. Both were charged with underage possession of an alcoholic beverage and were held overnight at the police department. They were also scheduled for arraignment July 31 at Newport District Court, police said.
