Chorus announces annual talent show

The Jamestown Community Chorus 18th Annual Talent Show, "350 Years: Then and Now," will take place on Thursday, Aug. 16, at 7:30 p.m., at the Jamestown Community Center.

Tickets are $7 for general admission, $5 for seniors and children, and can be purchased at the door, or in advance at Baker's Pharmacy, Jamestown Hardware, and the Secret Garden.

Open auditions for the talent show will take place on Monday and Tuesday, Aug. 13 and 14, from 7 to 8:30 p.m., at the Jamestown Community Center, 41 Conanicus Ave.

The Jamestown Community Chorus will hold its annual raffle starting Aug. 4. Raffle tickets are $1 each, 6 for $5, and will go on sale outside McQuade's Marketplace on Saturdays, Aug. 4 and 11, and Sundays, Aug. 5 and 12, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., and in front of the East Ferry Deli on Saturday, Aug. 11 from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tickets are also available from chorus members and at the talent show.

Three raffle prizes are available: Jamestown Chamber Bucks Certificates in denominations of $100, $75, and $50. These are redeemable at over 30 businesses in Jamestown. All proceeds benefit the future programs of the chorus, a music scholarship for a Jamestown student, and donations of recorded choral music to the Jamestown Philomenian Library. Winners will be announced at the talent show.
