Rose Island lighthouse clambake tickets go on sale

Tickets for the 24th Annual "Trashless" Clambake at the Rose Island Lighthouse on Aug. 18 are now on sale.

This event sells out each year, so buy tickets early to avoid disappointment.

The menu includes New England clam chowder, fresh garden salad, and homemade corn bread. In the traditional bake are steamers, mussels, little necks, Portuguese and Italian sausages, hot dogs, red potatoes, sweet potatoes, onions, carrots, celery, garlic, herbs and melted butter, just-picked corn on the cob, and seasoned fish. Lobster is optional. Dessert is chilled watermelon wedges and homemade blueberry cake. There is a cash bar, with soft drinks, beer and wine available. Lunch begins at noon.

Musical entertainment will be provided by the John Moitoza Dixieland Band.

More information is available at www.roseisland.org.

Boats will depart from either Jamestown or Fort Adams at 10:30 and 11 a.m. Patrons should arrive 15 minutes early. The boats will return passengers to their docks at about 3 p.m.

Tickets for adults are $90 with lobster ($75 without) and members of the lighthouse get a $10 discount. Children, ages 6 to 12 years old, pay $40 with lobster ($25 without), and those 5 and under are free.
