• Jamestown Historical Society
Museum open 1 to 4 p.m. This
summer's exhibit: The Jamestown
Bridge, 1940-2007: Concept to Demolition.
• Memories for the Future -
Jamestown Historical Society Museum,
1 to 4 p.m.
Add your memories to a time
capsule to be opened in 2057. 12
and under: $10; Over 12: $25.
• Narragansett Avenue, Then
and Now. DVD of Narragansett Avenue's
history and directions for the
future, produced by Barry Cook and
Nick Schaus of Sitarg Productions,
on sale at the Jamestown Museum.
• Jamestown 350 display -
Jamestown Philomenian Library.
Artifacts from the 1957 celebration
of Jamestown's 300th anniversary
• A time line of Jamestown history
will be posted along Narragansett
Avenue.
• Jamestown 350 buttons for
sale for $3.50 benefits the organizations
sponsoring the events and the
Jamestown Historical Society.
Daily Schedule
Saturday, Aug. 11
• Night for the Light - 6 to 11 p.m.
- tickets $65 per person. Dinner and
dancing under the tent at Fox Hill
Farm featuring food by Chopmist
Charlie's, music by Dr. Joe England
and Forty Steps, and a silent auction.
Proceeds donated to Dutch Island
Lighthouse Restoration

Sunday, Aug. 12
• Parade - Starts at 1 p.m. Form
at 12:15 p.m. at Lawn Ave. School.
March to Narragansett Ave. Stop at
town hall for dedication and short
speeches and a tree planting. Everyone
will be invited to stop back after
the parade to see the interior of the
town hall and have refreshments.
The parade will continue down Narragansett
Ave. to East Ferry.
• Greg Abate concert - 6:30 to 8
p.m. at East Ferry Square
• Old Jamestown Windmill open
1 to 4 p.m.
Monday, Aug. 13
• Quononoquott Garden Club
Tea and Delicacies - 2 to 4 p.m. -
tickets $3.50. Featuring floral design
demonstration by Candace Morgenstern
at the community center.
• Bands at the Bunker Family
Picnic - 2 to 7 p.m.
At Fort Wetherill with live music
by Abbey Road and two teen bands.
Children's games will be run by
teens from the teen center. Participants
will bring their own food and
drinks.
• BankNewport Historic Sunset
Cruise - 6 to 8 p.m. - tickets $10.
Cruise the shoreline of Jamestown
at sunset and see the historic sites
from a new perspective. Boat boarding
at East Ferry. Tickets on sale at
BankNewport in Jamestown. All
proceeds will go to Jamestown Fire
Department for new equipment.
BankNewport will match proceeds.
Tuesday, Aug. 14
• Old Jamestown Windmill open
1 to 4 p.m.
• Agricultural history of Jamestown
walking tour - 4 p.m. Tour of
Watson Farm, by Don Minto, will
focus on the continuum of agriculture
from pre-settlement to current
efforts to preserve the remaining
farmland. Participants will have the
opportunity to enjoy scenic vistas
and a short hike through farm fields,
pastures, and rocky coasts.
• BankNewport Historic Sunset
Cruise. See Monday, Aug. 13.
Wednesday, Aug. 15
• Chalk Around the Block art contest
- Noon to 3 p.m. Participants
will draw on the sidewalk around
the recreation center. Entry fee is $5
per artist or group and includes a set
of pastel chalks.
• Our History: Quest and Questions
- Registration all day - $3.50
per booklet. A self-guided hiking,
biking or driving hunt through
Jamestown's history. Sponsored by
the Teem Center, Rolling Agenda,
and the Jamestown Historical Society.
Registration at the Jamestown
Community Center, 41 Conanicus
Avenue. Answers due by 5 p.m. Saturday.
Prizes awarded at Sunday's
concert.

• Teen Movie night - 6 to 9 p.m.
Teens can attend a free movie at the
community center.
Thursday, Aug. 16
• Historic Walking Tour of Narragansett
Avenue - 10:30 a.m. and
2 p.m. Jane Bentley will conduct a
fascinating tour of historic downtown
Jamestown. Tour will start at
the Jamestown Museum and walk to
East Ferry.

Friday, Aug. 17
• Skate Fest 2007 - Noon to 7
p.m. Nationally known skateboarders,
BMX stars and top skateboard
and bike manufacturers will put on
a day long event at the Jamestown
Skatepark. Admission is $5.
• Island Farm tour - 2 to 4 p.m.
and 4 to 6 p.m.
Featuring a two-hour trolley tour
of the eight Jamestown farms with
a short stop at each farm and a brief
explanation by each farmer on the
history and type of farming done.
Trolley donated by Jamestown Land
Trust.

Saturday, Aug. 18
• Fool's Rules Regatta - 9 a.m.
Participants have two hours to
build a boat from non-marine materials
and then sail it in a race.
• Conanicut Island Art Association
Craft Show - 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The show will feature hand made
items including jewelry, handbags,
baskets, glass, pottery, and other attractive
items. The show will be held
at the community center.
• Kid's day at the Fire Department
- 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Fire trucks
will be out for the kids to explore
and climb on.
• Ice Cream Social - 1 p.m. The
Central Baptist Church will distribute
free ice cream in front of the
church on Narragansett Avenue.

Sunday, August 19
• Community Band concert -
6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. A rousing concert
by the Jamestown Community Band
will close out the week's events.
