Victory Day on Monday

The island's veterans groups will commemorate Victory Day on Monday, Aug. 13, by displaying U.S. flags at the East Ferry Veterans' Memorial Square.

Volunteers are needed to help put up the flags at 7 a.m. on Monday, and to take them down again at 3 p.m.

Anyone who has a flag that has draped the casket of a veteran and wants to donate it to be part of the island's patriotic displays can call Don Richardson at 423-0220 or Bruce Livingston at 423-0627.
