DeVito, Carnevale named vice presidents at BankNewport

BankNewport President and CEO, Thomas W. Kelly, has announced the appointments of two local men to positions as vice presidents of the bank.

Mark T. Carnevale was named as vice president, mortgage consultant. He is responsible for originating residential first mortgages in the areas of East Greenwich, Exeter, Jamestown, Narragansett, North Kingstown, South Kingstown, Charlestown, Hopkinton, Richmond, Westerly, Block Island, and eastern Connecticut. Carnevale began his career at BankNewport in 1993, most recently serving as mortgage consultant in the same geographic area.

Carnevale is a member of the Kent Washington Board of Realtors and a member of the Rotary Club of Wakefield. Carnevale, his wife, Karen, and their three daughters live in Jamestown..

F. Michael DeVito was named vice president

and branch manager of the bank's Jamestown office. DeVito began his career at BankNewport in 1989 and has held various positions, most recently serving as assistant vice president and manager at the same branch location. He is responsible for branch operations, business development and staff development.

DeVito earned a Bachelor of Arts in business administration from Boston College in Massachusetts. He holds a Rhode Island Insurance Producers License and is a Registered Paraplanner.

DeVito is a member of the Jamestown Chamber of Commerce and the Newport County Chamber of Commerce. DeVito, his wife, Elizabeth, and their two daughters make their home in South Kingstown.
