Swing band to play benefit

The Fort Adams Trust and First Night Newport announce the Sunset Fun-Raiser scheduled for Sunday, Aug. 26, from 6 to 11 p.m. at Belle Mer, on Goat Island.

This event is a benefit for both organizations and the honorary chairmen are Senator Sheldon Whitehouse and Newport Mayor Stephen Waluk.

Tickets are $75 per person and include hors d'oeuvres, refreshments, exotic food stations, desserts and music by Bellevue Cadillac Swing Band.

A silent auction will be held, which will feature items from area art galleries; tickets to Rough Point, the home of Doris Duke;an overnight stay at Rose Island Lighthouse; theater tickets and many more fabulous items.
