Philip Wharton memorial Aug. 31

A memorial celebration for Philip Wharton will be held Friday, Aug. 31, at 4 p.m. at the Wharton's home, 615 Wakefield St., West Warwick.

Philip Wharton died suddenly on April 18 in Lake Placid, N.Y.

He is survived by his parents, Leverett and Valerie Wharton; his sister, Mary Wharton of West Warwick; his grandmother, Mary Reynolds of Newport; his grandmother, Emmy Wharton of Stonington, Conn.; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Whiteface Mountain c/o the Philip Wharton Memorial Ski Foundation Fund, State Route 86, Wilmington, NY 12997.
