Recent accomplishments include restoring the second-empire-style Ponham Rocks Lighthouse in East Providence. Among his most visible achievements are the restored cupola on the Narragansett towers, and the restoration of the Plum Beach Lighthouse north of the Jamestown Bridge. Lescarbeau now undertaking the refurbishment of the Dutch Island Lighthouse. The Beavertail Lighthouse group has relied on his expertise for both new windows and doors, and most recently for estimates on the extensive restoration projects planned for the lantern tower and keepers' houses at Beavertail. He will speak about the anticipated expansion of the Beavertail Lighthouse Museum and his long experience with fund-raising efforts and what their success means to those who visit and use the reinvigorated sites. All are welcome to attend his talk on Tuesday, Sept. 11, beginning at 7:15 p.m. in the community room of the Jamestown library. |
