Montoya wins senior amateur golfing event

Mike Montoya, 60, won the 49th RIGA Senior Amateur Championship in a three-hole playoff. His score was 131 for the two-day event.

The tournament was held Sept. 18 and 19 at the Lincoln Country Club. Montoya has been playing golf for about 20 years. He started playing seriously while living in Germany. Montoya played in the Exeter league for a number of years and now plays in the Wednesday night Jamestown league.
