Tailgate for Coach Toppa

A tailgate party will be held in tribute to Coach John Toppa on Saturday, Oct. 27, from 4 to 8 p.m., at the Newport Yachting Center.

Sponsored by People's Credit Union, the event will benefit the Rhode Island Alzheimer's Association.

Toppa was a longtime coach at Roger's High School in Newport.

Tickets are $50 each and available at Cappy's, Yesterday's, La- Forge Casino Terrace or at the high school office.

Tickets include choice of ribeye steak or half a chicken, Caesar salad, baked potato and corn on the cob. Music will be by DJ Neal Dwyer. Parking is free at the site.
