Pumpkin days on the way

The island will celebrate fall's bounty on Oct. 14 and 15 during a Pumpkin Days event at two locations.

On Sunday, Oct. 14, join folks at the Jamestown Community Farm from 1 to 4 p.m. for some old fashioned fun. There will be horse-drawn hay rides, pumpkin picking and other fun things to do. A $5 donation to the Conanicut Grange is asked.

On Monday, Oct. 15, Jamestown chefs will give a cooking demonstration at the senior center using pumpkins picked at the community farm. Participants will be given recipes and two pumpkins to take home after the lively presentation. Donation to the grange is $20.
