NK playoff action this weekend

This week will be an exciting one for North Kingstown High School sports. The Skippers have the opportunity to crown two state champions and advance to the state finals in another.

The girls' field hockey team defeated East Greenwich on Tuesday night to advance to the state finals at Bryant University in Lincoln on Saturday. They will take on Tiverton, who they defeated 1-0 and 6-0 in their two games this season, at 6 p.m.

The boys' and girl's cross country teams will run in the state meet at Ponaganset High School on Sunday. The girls' race will start at 1:15 p.m. and the boys' at 2:15 p.m.

The boys' soccer team will begin their bid for a finals spot they face either Central Falls or Chariho in the quarterfinals on Saturday, at 6 p.m. at home.
