Good food during restaurant week

Two island restaurants will participate in the second annual Newport Restaurant Week, scheduled for Nov. 4 to 10.

The Bay Voyage Inn, on Conanicus Avenue, and Trattoria Simpatico, on Narragansett Avenue, will both be part of the event that offers reduced priced meals and some tasty sampling during the week.

On Nov. 9, the Bay Voyage will offer a Fall Wine Tasting and artisan cheese display, with small plate samplings, hors d'oeuvres and live jazz with Larry Perlman. The price is $25 per person. Call 423-2100 to reserve a spot.

They will also offer a special three-course menu during the entire week, which will cost $30 and include a free bottle of wine per couple.

Trattoria Simpatico will offer a four-course tasting menu that includes a choice of five starters, five entrees, a sorbet "intermezzo," and desserts for $30.

They will offer the special menu in addition to their regular menu and café menu from Nov. 4 to 9, and again on Sunday Nov. 11.
