'Art,' performed in Newport

The New England Theatre Training Institute presents "Art," by Yesmina Reza this weekend at the Edward King House in Newport.

The play, with a cast of three, will be performed Friday through Sunday, Nov. 2 to 4, with Nov. 2 and 3 shows at 8 p.m. and the Nov. 4 show at 2 p.m.

The story is about three old friends, Serge, Marc and Yvan, who discover just how fragile their relationship is when Serge purchases a piece of art that is just a white canvas. This event sparks a long journey of deep seeded resentment, jealousy and artistic differences. Their differences, the painting, and their underlying friendship will lead them back to a stronger and more open-minded relationship. The play is directed by Tom Erb.
