Teen logo design contest announced

The Jamestown Teen Center has announced a logo design competition for the official teen center name and logo. Submissions are due no later than 3 p.m. on Nov. 30 at the Jamestown Recreation Office, 41 Conanicus Ave.

The winner of the competition will win $100 cash and their design will be used as the official Teen Center logo. The second and third place winners will receive $30 and $20 cash prizes.

All participants must be under 20 years of age and be a Jamestown resident. Artists may submit up to two designs and each submission must include the artists name, age, school and phone number. Designs should be no smaller than 3-by 3- inches and no larger than 8- by 11-inches. Artwork must be two-dimensional and can be hand drawn or digitally produced by computer. Designs can be in black and white, or color. All digital designs must be submitted on paper. All hand drawn designs should be done in pen or marker, not pencil. Artists can include the "Jamestown Teen Center" in the artwork, create a new name for the space, or just submit a drawing.

A final vote for the winning design will be held during the Teen Center Open House on Dec. 1 at the recreation center. Students 19 and under can cast one vote each for their favorite design between 4 and 7 p.m. and the winners will be announced by 8 p.m. For more information, contact Melissa Minto at 423-7260 or email jamestownteens@ yahoo.com.
