Craft show coming Dec. 1

Jamestown's annual Holiday Craft Show, sponsored by the Conanicut Island Art Association (CIAA), will be held on Saturday, Dec. 1, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., at the Melrose Avenue School, 76 Melrose Ave.

This very popular show features a variety of handmade items, including the work of artisans from Jamestown and surrounding communities. People will enjoy finding many unique and affordable gifts, including children's clothing, jewelry, fine ceramic art, pens, knitwear, note cards, artwork, photographs, and quilts. Many crafters produce special items for customers who return year after year. This year's show manager is Deborah Goyette.

Several non-profit organizations will also offer items for their fundraising efforts. The Jamestown PTO will be selling food all day from the school's cafeteria.

Plan to enjoy a few hours of fun shopping, along with a break for coffee, lunch, or a snack. Proceeds from the show help support the CIAA's scholarship grant programs for elementary school students and high school seniors. Call 423-1231 for more information.
