Islanders to play in Tubaphonia

The annual Tubaphonia Christmas Concert will be held at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 8, in the North Kingstown High School Auditorium, Fairway Drive, North Kingstown.

This free concert features musicians of all ages, from Rhode Island, Massachusetts, and Connecticut, playing an amazing array of low, conical brass horns, including baritones and euphoniums (even a double-bell), ophecleids, cimbassos, helicons, sousaphones, and, of course, tubas of all sizes.

The group will perform traditional carols as well as lighthearted seasonal favorites, and provide many opportunities for the audience to sing-along with the big horns. The concert is sponsored by the Wickford Branch Centerville Bank and the North Kingstown Arts Council.
