Save the Bay Newport events
      Save the Bay will host educational events for children and families throughout the winter at its Newport Exploration Center and Aquarium. Group seal watches are a one or 2.5-hour tour aboard Save the Bay's education vessel, M/V Aletta Morris, to observe seals in their natural habitat.

Holiday hours at the library
      The Jamestown Philomenian Library will be closed Sunday, Dec. 23 through Tuesday, Dec. 25 to observe the holiday season. Regular hours will resume on Wednesday, Dec. 26, at 10 a.m. They will close at 5 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 31, and be closed on Tuesday, Jan. 1, 2008 to observe the New Year.

Wide ranging lecture topics set
      The Newport Art Museum's Winter Lecture Series will begin in January with topics ranging from the 2008 political landscape to the medicine of ancient Egyptian art. The lecture series, which runs from Jan. 5 to Feb. 23, will be held Saturdays at 2 p.m.
