Island bird count set for Jan. 5
      The Conanicut Island Christmas Bird Count will take place Saturday, Jan. 5, from 7 a.m. to noon. Birders are asked to meet early at the Jamestown Police Station, 250 Conanicus Ave. For more information, contact Candy Powell at 423-1492 or Evelyn Rhodes at 423-1254.

Holiday hours at the library
      The Jamestown Philomenian Library will be closed on Tuesday, Jan. 1, 2008 to observe the New Year. They will close at 5 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 31. Regular hours will resume on Wednesday, Jan. 2, at 10 a.m. Regular hours are Monday and Tuesday, 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.

Mother Goose time is back
      Beginning Monday, Jan. 14, Mother Goose Time for infants and babies, up through 24 months old, will be held on Monday mornings from 10:30 to 11:00 a.m. at the Jamestown library. Mother Goose time will feature board books, play rhymes, finger games, music and playtime.
