Gallery is seeking artwork
Gallery 297 in Bristol will be hosting a juried art exhibit from Feb. 20 to March 28. Eligible work includes any original oil, watercolor, pastel, acrylic, drawing, printmaking, photography, small sculpture, pottery, or mixed media created in the last three years. Submissions should relate to the color red; from a dot of red on a canvas or in a photograph to the word red used in the title.
All art must be for sale and only hand-delivered work will be accepted. All artwork must be properly framed, wired and ready to hang. Clip-on frames and sawtooth hangers will not be accepted. Maximum size including frame is 48 inches in either direction. Maximum weight for sculpture is 20 pounds and two feet in any direction. Artists must adhere to size requirements. There is a show fee of $10 per entry, and a limit of two entries per artist. The gallery commission is 30 percent.
The event will be judged by Kristin Grimm, the new director of galleries at the Providence Art Club.
Drop off dates are Friday, Feb. 15, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturday, Feb. 16 from 10 a.m. to noon.
