Carol Wright, 51

Carol L. Wright, 51, of Jamestown, died Monday after a long battle with cancer. She was the wife of Guy Frigon.

Carol had a 28-year career with IBM where she had been the Director of the IBM Project Center of Excellence. She was named the IBM Senior Project Manager of the World for 2006-07. While at IBM she had invented the PM Office software application.

She attended Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute on a full athletic scholarship, where she graduated as a three-letter athlete in basketball, field hockey and softball. She also was an avid golfer.

In addition to her loving husband Guy, Carol is survived by her daughter, Jessie Wright, and her stepson, Keith Hurley.

A generous person, she was always willing to give of her time and energy to those less fortunate.

In keeping with her caring spirit, a benefit in her memory for the underprivileged will be held in the spring.
