Great day at the State House

The eighth grade class would like to thank Representative Bruce Long and Senator Teresa Paiva- Weed for hosting the them at the State House on Thursday, Jan. 17.

Representatives led students in a mock legislative debate in the House chambers of the General Assembly. After a lunch provided by Speaker of the House, Rep. William Murphy, students toured the State House and learned about its history and uniqueness.

Students, faculty and parents enjoyed learning about the legislative process of our state government and about the history of our state in a hands-on manner. Again the eighth grade class at Lawn Avenue School would like to say thank you to the Representatives Bruce Long and Senator Teresa Paiva-Weed for providing such a wonderful learning opportunity.
