Learn during winter vacation

Parents are encouraged to register their children for a set of February school vacation programs sponsored by The Friends of the Jamestown Library in cooperation with the Audubon Society.

On Wednesday, Feb. 20, from 1 to 2 p.m., the Audubon Society of Rhode Island will present the program "Seasonal Sensations" for children from Kindergarten to grade 2. Children will learn about their five senses while investigating the changing seasons.

On Thursday, Feb. 21, from 1 to 2 p.m., the Audubon Society of Rhode Island will present the program "Animals in Winter" for children in grades 3 though 8. Children will learn about the strategies that animals use to survive this challenging and stressful time of year by participating in hands-on activities. Registration is required for both programs and attendance is limited.

Registration begins Friday, Feb. 1, at the library, by phone at 423- 7280, or via e-mail at rowenadunlap@ gmail.com.
