Violet Drury, 81

Violet F. Drury, 81, of 16 Knowles Court, died Tuesday, Jan. 22, 2008 at Scalabrini Villa in North Kingstown.

Born in Jamestown, she was a daughter of the late Peter F. and Violet (Cooper) Drury.

She graduated in 1948 from Simmons College in Boston, Mass.

Ms. Drury was a buyer for the Haynes Department Store in Newark, N.J. before retiring.

She was a communicant of St. Mark Church.

She is survived by her brothers, William E. Drury and his wife, Anne, of Cranston; and Peter F. Drury, Jr. and his wife, Anne, of Jamestown; and many nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial was held at St. Mark Church, and burial was in St. Mark Cemetery.
