Children's dance classes offered

The Jamestown Parks and Recreation Department presents two new dance classes for island youth. Karen Sachetti, creator of SmartStart RI, will lead two Saturday morning classes at the Jamestown Country Club.

"Little Dancing Feet!" is for children ages 3 to 5 years old, and will run from 10 to 10:45 a.m. These dynamic classes include multi-cultural and fun story dances where children learn the art of self-expression through the mastery of dance skills. "Kid Power Moves!" is for children ages 6 to 8 years old, and will run from 11 to 11:45 a.m. Children are invited for a fun movement program that uniquely combines creative dance with stretching. This program lays a foundation for a lifetime of health by reducing stress, enhancing focus and selfcontrol while promoting creativity and character-building education.

The programs will run from Saturday, Feb. 16 through March 22 and cost $45 per child. Visit www.smartstartri.com for more info or call the recreation office at 423-7260. Space is limited; register early.
