Docents needed at Smith's Castle

2008-02-14 / News

Smith's Castle Historic House Museum in North Kingstown will hold two sessions for prospective volunteers in March.

Volunteering at the 18th century home is a great opportunity for history enthusiasts of all ages who wear historically-accurate costumes while teaching visitors about the house.

Docents require 14 hours of training and must volunteer twice a month. Greeters must complete two hours of training.

Volunteer information sessions will be on Sunday, March 2 or Sunday, March 9 from 1 to 3 p.m. at the museum annex. Docent training will begin April 5.
