Photographers invited to enter gallery show
The next Town Hall Gallery exhibit will be the "All-Island All-Photography Show." Every Jamestown resident may enter, either by being or becoming a member of the Conanicut Island Art Association. The cost of an individual membership is $20. New members may join when entering the show.
Drop off work for the show on Thursday, March 28, from noon to 4 p.m. Anyone who has work displayed in the current show, "Art in the Heart of Jamestown," can pick it up at this same time.
The opening for the photography show will be on Thursday, April 4, from 5 to 7 p.m. Everyone is invited.
Each artist may enter up to three pieces at an entry fee of $10 per piece. The CIAA is currently able to hang 65 pieces. If more pieces are received, the show may be edited. Only original pieces made by the artist, in any photography medium, may be entered. All pieces must be suitably framed with wires and ready to hang. Pieces with saw tooth hangers, clips, unprotected glass or other sharp edges will not be accepted. Framed artwork must not exceed 48-inches in any direction, and must not exceed 50 pounds. No reproductions of original art work are permitted. Each separately-framed part of a work to be hung together is considered one piece.
For this show, all artwork must be for sale. The CIAA will take 20- percent commission on all works sold. Artwork should be suitable for viewing by all age groups. All accepted artwork must remain in the Town Hall for the duration of the show, and be picked up at the Town Hall on Thursday, May 29, between noon and 4 p.m.
