The Chamber is pleased to report that once again there has been great response to our Winter Breakfast Series. These meetings not only provide business owners with important, timely, and useful information, but they also allow for businessto business networking, sharing ideas, and, of course, socializing.
The third and last in our series will be held on Thursday, April 3, and the topic is "Jamestown Business District Vision - What's Next." Our speakers will be Town Planner Lisa Bryer, and Michael Swistak, a member of the Planning Commission and former Chamber president. Mike has also served as Chamber liaison to Planning. All three of our breakfast meetings are sponsored by Peter Brockmann, of Brockmann and Associates, and William Lawrence of Cityscope. Thank you both for your generosity in making these events happen.
The breakfast will be at the Bay Voyage Inn from 7:30 to 8:45 a.m. The cost for Chamber members is $15 and $20 for non-members. Everyone is welcome to attend.
Friday, March 28 is the deadline for local organizations to submit letters of interest in becoming the recipient of the Chamber's annual "Night At…" fundraiser dinner dance. Letters should state what the group does and what goals this donation will help them reach. The organization must be willing to assist in planning the event as well as working set-up and breakdown. Please submit your letters to the Chamber of Commerce, PO Box 35, Jamestown, RI 02835.
The Chamber holds marketing meetings each month that are open to all members of the community- -Chamber members as well as interested non-members. The next marketing meeting will be held on March 20, at 8 a.m., and the Chamber is very happy to welcome longtime resident Jack Hubbard, who will be presenting ideas on marketing our local businesses to Jamestowners. For location and further information, contact the Chamber.
The Chamber's Annual Meeting will be held on Thursday, March 27, at Tricia's Tropi Grille at 6 p.m. There will be a very short business meeting during which the new Board members will be elected, and that will be followed by dinner and entertainment. This meeting is for Chamber members only.
This will be our final reminder about membership renewal. It is very important to renew as soon as possible, as we are ready to publish an updated Jamestown Map, and in order to take out advertising space on the map, your business must be a Chamber member. We also welcome new businesses to join. As part of your membership you will be listed on the Chamber's website. The Chamber receives many inquiries throughout the year from potential customers for recommendations and referrals, and of course only Chamber members can be recommended. We still do not have any painting businesses as members, so please get your application in to get referrals. If you would like more information, or need an application form, please go to the Chamber website, www. jamestownRIchamber.com.
