Art association offers scholarships The Conanicut Island Art Association will provide a total of $3,000 in scholarships to graduating high school seniors this year. To be eligible for a grant, students must be residents of Jamestown and graduating from a Rhode Island high school. More ... A new session of Scrapbooking will begin at the Teen Center starting Monday, March 24. The 8-week class will run every Monday from 3 to 5 p.m. The cost of the class is $10 and will be run by Student Assistance Counselor Stephanie Nocon. More ... The Jamestown Teen Center will host a bus trip to see the Providence Bruins face off against Springfield on Friday, March 28. The bus will leave the Teen Center at 6 p.m. and return at 10 p.m. Tickets must be ordered by Monday, March 24 and cost $12 per student. More ... Preserve Rhode Island, the statewide non-profit organization for historic preservation, announced the Spring 2008 deadline for the Preserve Rhode Island-Citizens Bank Foundation Mini-Grants program. More ... The Jamestown Women's Club will hold its annual Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday, March 22, on the Shoreby Hill Green beginning promptly at 10 a.m. sharp. The event will be held rain or shine.
