No tax increase
      Councilors, don't raise our taxes!! We cannot afford it. The State is practically bankrupt, and the country is falling into a deep recession. Predictions have heating oil and gasoline at $4.00 a gallon! When we have to pay $800 to fill our 200 gallon oil tanks to keep warm, and $50 for gas to go to work, we can't pay more in taxes.

      On Tuesday evening, March 11, I had the opportunity to sit in on a Jamestown Conservation Committee meeting, during which the members of the committee discussed and deliberated, among other things, the value and merits of the EPA's Sole Source Aquifer (SSA) designation for Conanicut Island and Jamestown.
