Senior projects focus on community

Photo by Andrea von Hohenleiten As part of her North Kingstown High School senior project, island resident Kyra Reppe will host a clothing drive on Thursday, March 20, from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the Jamestown Recreation Center.

All proceeds will be donated to various women's shelters of Rhode Island. For more information, contact Reppe by e-mail at kyrareppe5@gmail.com.

Alexa Furtado will be giving a presentation on eating disorders at the Jamestown library on Friday, March 21, at 3:30 p.m. as part of her senior project.

Molly Welsh's senior project focuses on the impact of marine debris on coastal ecosystems. She will be holding a beach cleanup this Saturday, March 22, at Mackerel Cove beach starting at 9 a.m. Trash bags and gloves will be provided and the event will be held rain or shine.
