Grants available to non-profit groups
Preserve Rhode Island, the statewide non-profit organization for historic preservation, announced the Spring 2008 deadline for the Preserve Rhode Island-Citizens Bank Foundation Mini-Grants program. Non-profit organizations looking for funds to help aid their preservation projects are invited to apply. Grants to non-profits range from $300 to $1,000. A 100-percent match is required and no in-kind matches will be accepted. Grants may be used for fees associated with preservation and planning consultants, planning studies, project designs, creation of preservation education projects, or emergency intervention for historic properties. Expenses related to regular maintenance and repairs of structures, professional training, conferences or seminars are not eligible. The deadline is Friday, May 30.
