Suspended license and

marijuana possession charged

Jeffrey Viveiros, 50, of Johnston, was charged April 13 for third offense driving with a suspended license and marijuana possession after a routine traffic stop on Beavertail Road, police said.

Viveiros was arraigned at the police station and a pre-trial hearing was scheduled for April 25 at Newport District Court, police said.

Suspended license charged

David Squizzero, 39, of Cranston was charged April 14 for driving with a suspended license after a routine traffic stop on Route 138 westbound, police said.

An arraignment was scheduled for April 25 at Newport District Court, police said.

Marijuana possession charged

Mikchael Salafia, 21, of Saunderstown was charged April 17 with possession of marijuana after he was stopped on Beavertail Road near Ft. Getty Road as a follow-up investigation for a previous arrest, police said.

Salafia was held overnight at the police station and pleaded no contest in Newport District Court the next morning. The charge was filed for one year with a $200 contribution to the victim's compensation fund, police said.

Possession of marijuana and

underage possession of

alcohol charged

James Salafia, 18, of Saunderstown was charged April 17 with possession of marijuana and underage possession of alcohol after he was stopped on Beavertail Road at Hull's Cove for a follow-up investigation to a previous arrest, police said.

Salafia was held overnight at the police station and pleaded no contest at Newport District Court the next morning. The charge was filed for one year with a $200 contribution to the victim's compensation fund and 20 hours of community service, police said.
