Summer concerts to help autism project

The Newport Yachting Center announces that partial proceeds from this summer's 11th Annual Snapple Sunset Music Series will benefit the Autism Project of Rhode Island for the eighth consecutive year. The summer series will feature headliners Boz Scaggs, on June 14, Plain White T's with Mae and the Kung Fu Girls, on July 6, Melissa Etheridge on July 7, Jimmie Vaughan on July 11 the Indigo Girls on July 12 and John Hiatt and the Ageless Beauties on Aug. 21.

The Autism Project of Rhode Island, with headquarters in Cranston, is a unique collaboration of parents and professionals with a mission to develop a comprehensive system of care and resources that meet the needs of children and adults with autism and their families.

Since the partnership between the Sunset Music Series and the Autism Project was established in 2000, more than $67,000 has been donated to the cause.

The Newport Yachting Center is located on the waterfront in the heart of historic, downtown Newport right off America's Cup Avenue

Tickets for the six concerts are currently available for purchase on-line at www.newportfestivals. com by using the Center's new ClicknPrint ticketing system, which allows customers to print tickets right from home, or call Newport Yachting Center Box Office at 846-1600, ext. 3.
