This Saturday the Jamestown Community Farm begins its eighth year of operations. The farm, located on the corner of Eldred Avenue and East Shore Road, grows fresh vegetables for the people in the state who do not get enough to eat. More ... The Schock Gallery invites islanders to an art opening this Friday, May 23, from 5 to 8 p.m. The exhibit is called "Exotic Exposure" and features new works from the artists' travels to Thailand, Vietnam and Cambodia. Schock Gallery is a collaborative of Cynthia Blair, Barbara Hutchinson, Kate Petrie, Pat Tuff and David Schock. More ... The Jamestown Library will be closed in honor of Memorial Day, Monday, May 26. The library will open during regular hours on both Saturday, May 24, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday, May 25, from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday hours will formally end on June 8. Summer Saturday hours, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., will begin on Saturday, June 21. More ... The Jamestown Teen Center will hold special open hours on Monday, May 26, from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. Immediately following the parade, the center will be open to the public for refreshments and to check out the new space. The Jamestown Medical Fund will hold a plant sale at East Ferry on Monday, May 26, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Flats of annuals, potted plants and hanging bags will be sold filled with healthy, vibrant blooms. As a convenience, the volunteers will hold plants purchased that morning until after the parade for easy pick-up. More ... There will be a blood drive and bone marrow registration drive on Sunday, May 25, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Holy Ghost Hall on Narragansett Avenue.
