Sailors thank islanders for donations
      The members of the North Kingstown Sailing Team would like to thank the following Jamestown community members for their generous donations to the Nautical Yard Sale: Betsy Gooding, Rick Lavoie, Conanicut Marine Services, Andrew and Julie Kallfelz, Tina McIntyre, Sheila Nixon, Gerry Bay, Brian Dutra and the many anonymous donors.

Sutton, Kelly views are inflamatory
      I would like to address the concerns of Mr. Kelly and Mr. Sutton regarding the school. I took offense to the statement we are a magnet for special education students. The whole town should be proud of that. It is true some people have moved here because of the program, however, houses get bought, taxes get paid just like everyone else.

Please don't feed the fox and her pups
      Recently, a fox and her eight pups have moved in to the culvert in front of our house on Bay View Drive. It has become a popular destination in Jamestown. We don't mind that everyone stops by to take a picture or two but we have had several people throwing food to her and the pups.

Lew Kitts was a Mother's Day hero
      I would very much like to acknowledge the wonderful deed carried out by a wonderful islander. He saved my Mother's Day! My son plays baseball on the Jamestown school team and in the Babe Ruth League in Newport and mistakenly left both uniforms in his locker at school.

Kelly spewing more hot air
      Town Council member William Kelly's "Viewpoint" regarding the school budget is once again stirring up anxiety with our community. Two years ago, Mr. Kelly voiced the same opinion. I went to that meeting at the library, and missed a night putting my daughter to bed. Mr. Kelly arrived an hour late, had nothing to say when asked, and the vote went through.
