Easton receives awards for new book
Kelly Easton of Jamestown has won the 2008 Asian/Pacific American Literature Award for her novel "Hiroshima Dreams."
Set in Providence, the novel explores the lives of three generations affected by the bombing of Hiroshima. In addition, Hiroshima Dreams has won the 2008 ASTAL Rhode Island Middle School Award, and has been selected for the 2008-2009 Kentucky Bluegrass Award Master List, and the New York Public Library 2008 Books for the Teen Age list.
Easton will read from her books at Barrington Books on Sunday, June 8, at 2 p.m.
