Beavertail lighthouse replica on display at state park this Monday

Steve Wright, owner and crafter of American Lawn Lights of Yorktown Heights, N.Y., will be exhibiting many of his wooden lighthouse replicas at the Virtu Arts Festival in Westerly, this weekend May 24 and 25.

Included in the exhibit will be the debut display of his newest lighthouse, a 30-inch replica of the Beavertail Lighthouse in Jamestown.

Weather permitting, the replica will pay a visit to the Beavertail lighthouse on Monday, May 26 to be photographed.

The replica of the tower and attached battery house is made from pine wood for indoor display and equipped with a realistic flashing beacon.

Wright features highly detailed, working replicas of 48 specific historic American lighthouses on his web site: www.americanlawnlights.com with the addition of the Beavertail Lighthouse, which was commissioned as a gift for a Newport resident. All of Wright's replica lighthouses are custom built to order and are signed and numbered.
