Marion Grenier, 91

Marion Grenier, 91, of Florida, formerly of Pemberton Avenue in Jamestown and School Street, Newport, died Tuesday, April 22, 2008. She was the wife of the late Oswald Grenier Sr.

Born in Newport on July 11, 1916, a daughter of Abigail (Bailey)

Francis

and Harry Francis, she lived in Newport for many years before moving to Jamestown, then to Florida.

A graduate of Rogers High School, Newport, she worked at Liggett's Drug Store on Thames Street during the 1940s and also Gamage's Variety Store on upper Thames Street. She was a parishioner of St. John's Episcopal Church on Washington Street, Newport.

She leaves four sons, Oswald Grenier Jr. and Charles Grenier of Florida, Sgt. Major Ronald (Oz) Grenier of Kentucky, and Robert Grenier Sr. of Jamestown, and one daughter Marion Ribera of Florida. She leaves 12 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandson.

Her death was preceded by three brothers, Earl Bailey Sr., Harry Francis and Walter Francis, and a sister, Gertrude McMahon. She is survived by two brothers William and Donald Francis of Newport.

A Funeral Mass will be held at a later date.
