Expand recycling at your business

The Northeast Recycling Council (NERC) invites town offices, businesses, and schools to a workshop on implementing and expanding recycling at their facilities on Wednesday, June 11, from 3 to 5 p.m., at the Jamestown Town Hall. The workshop is free and open to all.

The workshop will present innovative ways to economize by recycling.

Recycling helps reduce greenhouse gas emissions that affect global climate. Recycling also saves energy, creates jobs, reduces the need for new landfills and incinerators, prevents emission of water pollutants, supplies valuable raw materials to industry, and conserves natural resources for local children's future- a goal towns, businesses, and schools share.

Workshop participants will receive a "Recycling Makes Sense" tool kit, with resources for implementing a waste prevention and recycling program.

The Northeast Recycling Council's mission (www.nerc. org.) is to advance an environmentally sustainable economy by promoting recycling, source and toxicity reduction, and purchase of environmentally preferable products and services.
