Three charged with

underage drinking

On May 31, at 12:30 a.m., Jamestown police received a complaint of a loud house party on Aquidneck Court.

According to police, officers responded to the call and discovered approximately 80 individuals in the residence. Numerous others ran from the police into the woods.

Zachary Hanners, 19, of 10 Coulter St., and Elizabeth Gladding, 19, of 242 America Way, Jamestown, and Kevin Pomeroy, 20, of Saunderstown, were charged with underage possession of alcohol after they were witnessed by police to be in possession of alcoholic beverages, police said.

Each was given a pretrial hearing date of June 20 at Newport District Court, police said.

Brendan Nugent, 18, of North Kingstown, was charged May 31with first offense drunk driving and refusal to submit to a Breathalyzer test after being stopped for erratic driving on East Shore Road, police said.

A 17-year-old juvenile passenger in the car was charged with possession of marijuana, police said.

According to police, both subjects admitted to being at the house party on Aquidneck Court earlier in the night.

Nugent is scheduled for a pretrial hearing June 20 at Newport District Court, police said. The juvenile case was referred to Family Court, police added.

Drunk driving charges

• Anthony Rocchio, 43, of East Greenwich, was charged May 25 with first offense drunk driving and refusal to take a Breathalyzer test after he was stopped for erratic driving on Route 138 westbound, police said.

Rocchio was given a pretrial hearing date of June 6 at Newport District Court, police said.

• Natalie Squillante, 21, of Saunderstown, was charged May 31 with first offense drunk driving and marijuana possession, refusal to submit to a blood test and resisting arrest during a traffic stop, police said.

Squillante was released after scheduling a pretrial hearing for June 20 at Newport District Court, police said.

Hit and run charged

Nancy Duchesneau, 39, of Charlestown, was charged June 1 with second offense drunk driving, drug possession, driving on a suspended license, refusal to submit to a chemical test and failure to stop at the scene of an accident, police said.

According to police, Duchesneau was involved in a hit and run accident involving injuries on North Main Road.

She was held overnight at the police station and arraigned the next morning at Newport District Court, police said.

Suspended license violation

George Critz, 51, of Newport, was charged May 28 with driving on a suspended license after a routine traffic stop, police said.

An arraignment was scheduled for June 6 at Newport District Court, police said.

Marijuana possession charged

Jacquelyn Stoeckle, 23, of 17 Gondola Ave., was charged May 30 with possession of marijuana, police said.

According to police, officers were investigating a report of shots fired in the area of Head's Beach when they interviewed the suspects and located the marijuana.

Stoeckle was held overnight at the police station and was arraigned the next morning at Newport District Court, police said.
