Rocky Hill gives student awards

Barrett Cavanagh Barrett Cavanagh Jamestown students attending the Rocky Hill School recently received athletic and academic awards at end-of-year ceremonies.

Receiving awards were Jacqueline Weixel , who got the M. Dorothy Young '48, 12-Season Athlete Award, the Three-Season Mariner Award and the Girls' Cross Country Coach's Award. Weixel, a senior, also received the Secretary of State's Civic Leadership Award and the Community Service Award.

Senior Barrett Cavanagh received the Boys' Varsity Lacrosse: MVP, All SENE First Team. Cavanagh also received the Lt. Governor Elizabeth H. Roberts 2008 Leadership Award.

Chris LaMantia was given the Outstanding Achievement in Advanced Latin and the Most Improved Musician, Instrumental awards.

Anthea Weixel received the Girls' Varsity Lacrosse: All SENE First Team award. She also received the George Eastman Young Leaders Award and was admitted to the French National Honor Society.

Philip Twombly, received the Senior Prefect award.
