Drunk driving charged

John C. Zajac, 44, of Saunderstown was charged June 22 with first of fense dr unk dr iving, re fusal to submit to a Breathalyzer test, and driving with a suspended license after police stopped him on Route 138 westbound for driving erratically, police said.

Zajac was held at the police station overnight where he was arraigned and a pre-trial hearing was scheduled for July 11 at Newport District Court, police said.
