Bring back golf course advisory committee
      I am writing on behalf of a number of Jamestown residents who have formed an association with the hope of protecting and preserving what we feel is a valuable Jamestown asset: the golf course. For the past 21 years, the golf course has been run by the same management team. They have done an admirable job, and are to be commended for the improvements they have instituted.

Thanks for a great party
      We would like to thank Mike Cabral, Bill Marsh and the Jamestown Fire Department for hosting a great birthday party for our son Ryan's ninth birthday. Chief Jim Bryer and the fire department donated the party as an auction item for the Jamestown school PTO golf tournament fundraiser, which we won.

      I would like to share two bits of information, one with my fellow seniors who might be behind the times, like I, and the other with the younger generation who, perhaps, could benefit by learning the ways of the old. Today, a policeman in a police car pulled up behind me and called, "Gale." I turned around and saw a complete stranger.

      You gave us $13,000 and we blew it up! What makes this event successful is the support of the people of Jamestown. The Rocket 'hogs are very thankful to everyone who mailed in a check, or donated anonymously, but we are also thankful to everyone who put time and effort into this venture.
