Sticker enforcement needed at Head's beach
      As a resident of Jamestown Shores for the last 10 years, for the first time, I begrudgingly marched down to the recreation department and handed over $15 for the formerly free right of using the neighborhood beach, Head's Beach.

      Jamestown was once a seemingly unique community where people did not act only out of self-interest. As I witness the continuing 'It's all about me' and 'NIMBY' mentality we are in danger of losing what is best about this island - our collective sense of community.

      The East Passage Lot Owners Association's Board of Directors would like to thank Senator M. Teresa Paiva Weed and Representative Bruce J. Long for their efforts on our behalf. East Passage Estates was originally created by Commerce Oil and includes two man-made ponds. These ponds and the dams that form them are owned and maintained by the association.

Thanks for caring EMS volunteers
      This letter was sent to the Jamestown Emergency Medical Services and copied to the Jamestown Press. I stumbled on the Narragansett Avenue sidewalk just outside of Chopmist Charlie's early Saturday morning, July 26. Luckily my right hand broke my fall, though the ensuing wound was ultimately considered serious hand trauma requiring many stitches.

Thanks for help with deed restriction bill
      Recently, West Reach Estates Association realized that a little-known state law would cause our deed restrictions, which were instituted by our developer Commerce Oil Refinery, to expire very soon. Our board of directors felt this to be detrimental to our neighborhood for many reasons; among them the care of our two ponds and their commonly-owned lots.
