Talent show coming next week

The annual Jamestown Talent Show: "Salute to Vaudeville" is set for Wednesday evening, Aug. 13, at the Recreation Center.

The show, a fund-raiser for the Jamestown Community Chorus, starts at 7 p.m. and will feature such outstanding performers as Oliver Allaux and his fiddle, Emily Anthony and her violin, the vocalist trio Hummingbirds, the rib-tickling Kathy Brownell Follies, and singers Kim Oaks, and Jimmy Winters, a Newport policeman. The Jamestown Community Band and the Men's Chorus of Jamestown are old favorites and are also expected to be on stage.

Tickets are $7 general admission and $5 for seniors and children 12 and under.

Auditions will be held at the Recreation Center at 7 p.m. Sunday and Monday, Aug. 10 and 11. For more information, call 423- 1574.
