Annual art exhibit of CIAA opens Aug. 20

The Conanicut Island Art Associate (CIAA) has announced that Kathleen Hancock, gallery director of the Grimshaw-Gudewicz Art Gallery of Bristol Community College in Fall River, will be juror for its 34th annual art exhibit.

The show will open Wednesday, Aug. 20, with a reception from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. It will continue daily from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. through Sunday, Aug. 24, at the Jamestown Recreation Center.

In addition to her position at the Grimshaw-Gudewicz Art Gallery, Hancock is also the assistant director of the Bristol Art Museum in Bristol. Hancock is a book arts printer, having printed several limited-edition books. Her work is represented in the collections of the print department at the Boston Public Library, the Rhode Island School of Design Library, and the libraries at Harvard, Princeton and Smith College.

The Recreation Center is located at 41 Conanicus Ave., opposite the Jamestown waterfront.
